MANIFESTO

OUR MANIFESTO & PRINCIPLES

Say what you mean. Get it right the first time. We built a prompt layer, not another chatbot wrapper, to eliminate the friction between messy human thoughts and transformer attention architectures.

FIRST PRINCIPLES

Why we built a prompt layer, not another chatbot.

AI chat interfaces tricked the world into thinking prompting is a casual chat conversation. It isn't. When you converse aimlessly with an LLM, you burn your focus, inflate your token budget, and dilute the model's self-attention across 5 pages of irrelevant back-and-forth.

Prompting is a discipline of staging: negative constraints, context bounds, deterministic roles, and clear proofs. Cue structures your natural intent before it ever leaves your browser.

A Note from the Founders

“Most people don't have a bad idea. They have a rushed one.”

We built Cue because we watched brilliant engineers, product managers, and researchers spend 45 minutes wrestling with an AI model over something they knew in their heads in 5 seconds.

The problem was never the intelligence of the model, and it was never the intelligence of the user. The problem was the gap: the friction between a messy human thought and the rigid instruction format that transformer architectures need to output truth.

Cue bridges that gap right inside the browser. It never asks you to switch tabs. It never reads your prompts on a server. It sits right in your composer and says: say it once. Get it right.

CORE COMMITMENTS

The Three Inviolable Principles

1

Genuinely Unlimited Free Tier

Because you use your own API keys, Cue Free will never have artificial daily message caps, intrusive banner ads, or credit expirations. Free stays free forever.

2

BYOK as Sovereignty, Not an Upsell

You own your relationship with AI labs. Your keys stay on your machine. You pay wholesale token rates directly to providers without 10x middleman subscription markups.

3

Zero Mandatory Identity

You can install Cue, connect an API key, and compile prompts indefinitely without ever creating an account. Client-side privacy is our default baseline, not a settings toggle.
